A hand made copper spirit figure of a loon bird - a sacred bird in Siberian shamanism (although it could represent any bird spirit you wished).

Metal amulets like this are hung on shamans costumes and are an important part of bringing the coat alive. This was made for Buryat shaman in Southern Siberia and is a beautiful, rare traditional shamanic object.

COPPER DRAGON RING AMULET (Item No. Amulet 02)

A bronze doughnut shaped ring with two dragons with a sun disc between them on the one side and 4 Chinese characters on the otherside.

Sold to me as form of Chinese coin (although I am not certain this is correct), I have seen historic photos of Siberian shamans wearing doughnuts similar to this around their neck, and also seen larger doughnuts similar to these as the centre of the back of shaman's drums, where they act as a handle - sitting in the palm of the hand while the drum is played

I have been able to obtain a small quantity of these small bronze doughnuts (and a few large ones I am using in drum making). The smaller ones are nice to wear around the neck on a cord - I have one I wear myself.

The symbolism of them is the 2 dragons represent the two forces in nature (yin and yang) with the sun between them representing the ancestors. On the back the four Chinese characters represent the four directions.

They have a beautiful worn quality to them and a nice patina. Supplied ona length of black leather cord.

Attractive old bronze amulet of a kylin.

The kylin is a mythological Chinese animal with horns on its head, scales on its body and the tail of an ox. It is an animal of longevity and said to spit fire and roar like thunder. The Kylin - together with the phoenix, the turtle and the dragon - is one of the "Four Divine Creatures", and is regarded as a benevolent, celestial animal, a mount for gods and a symbol of auspiciousness.

A small beautifully made solid copper or copper rich bronze statue of an unknown animal. It does not look like a tiger or snow leopard or bear. It could be a wolf or perhaps a Tibetan Fox.

The collar around the neck does make it look like a Tibetan fox (sand fox) (photo above) - but this is only a guess. I think it could be anything you intend it to be (except perhaps a giraffe or an elephant).

It's delightful.

A small, old, copper cross. Crosses like this can be found on the coats and other objects of shamans that have mixed Christian elements into their shamanic practice. Some Siberian shamans look upon Saint Nicholas as the patron saint of shamans and see him as an importan spirit helper, and Jesus is seen as one of the sky powers and is sometimes associated with the solar family of spirits.

An interesting original very old object that is sound and wearable.

An old swastika thigchag. Swastika are found in many cultures before the Nazis missappropriated them and turned them around to be anti-life. When they are the correct way round they represent the sun and the turn of the wheel of life. They also mean the heart of the Buddha within Buddhism. They are an ancient symbol often found associated with Mongolian Shamanism as well as Buddhism. This one has a dorje either side.

Nice quality pendant of Lapis set with a silver hanging wire at the top. The Lapis is a nice blue with normal golden flecks in it and appears to be a good stone. I do not know if it has been colour enhnaced or treated, but it appears natural. A very pretty stone.

This is an interesting piece, suspended on a decorated eye hole, allowing it to be threaded on a cord and worn. I suspect this is part of a ritual costume rather than a bit of every day jewellery. It is very well made and attractive.
