gZi stones (pronounced zee) are an ancient type of stone bead, with a history stretching back thousands of years. The are found in Tibet, areas of Central Asia and some areas of South East Asia. Many people nowadays call them dZi stones, but this is a modern, and inaccurate Western spelling of their real name gZi. They have always been considered to be very spiritually powerful, and have been worn as protective amulets - often being passed on across generations - for millenia.

Ancient beads can sell for tens, or even hundreds of thousand of dollars - with even some brand new beads selling for hundreds of dollars each - and because ancient beads are now so valuable, many traditional families who own them, keep them locked away, wearing recently made beads like those on this page instead.

All of the beads on this page have been recently made of either agate or carnelian stone, and are marked with traditional patterns, each with it's own meaning. Eyes are the most common pattern, and they are considered a highly protective form of gZi, often worn around the neck as amulets, but there are many other symbolic patters.

Some of the stones here are brand new, while others have been worn by people in the Himalayas, and then sold, or traded. All are real gZi, and they can be worn as part of the ancient tradition of wearing these beautiful and special protective amulets of spiritual power.
